📌 Tip: Use the NTSA SMS code 22846 or NTSA TIMS account to verify the car’s registration and status.
Step 4: Inspect and Test Drive
Even if the car looks perfect:
✅ Do this:
- Inspect the body for rust, dents, respray marks
- Start the engine cold – listen for knocking sounds
- Test brakes, acceleration, suspension
- Slide all doors (especially the power sliding ones)
- Check AC, infotainment, reverse camera, parking sensors
Optional: Bring a mechanic or car expert to inspect with you.

- Insurance (optional, but often offered as a package)
- Financing (optional – through SACCO, bank or in-house)
Payment options:
- Direct bank transfer
- MPesa (for deposit only)

Tip: NEVER pay full amount before confirming ownership and paperwork.
Step 6: Paperwork and NTSA Transfer
Once you’re ready:
- Sign sales agreement
- Pay deposit (if required)
- Clyde Motors initiates logbook transfer via NTSA TIMS
- Wait for ownership change confirmation (1–5 working days)
- Collect logbook in your name
📦 Step 7: Delivery / Collection
Once payment is complete and ownership is confirmed:
- You can drive off or ask for delivery (some dealers offer Nairobi-wide delivery)
- Ensure car is insured before taking it on the road
